I first visited the Caribbean with my husband and son back in April 2006 when we stayed in the Caribbean island of Cuba.

It was our first long haul flight as a family and I must admit the holiday was a complete and utter disaster.

Though I would leave the blame at the door of a bad holiday company (First Choice Holidays In England – BEWARE)!

Because from the start everything that went wrong was something to do with them. For example the hotel was part of their platinum range yet the food was awful and I could have paid for a different hotel for the same price that did make an effort with what they fed you.

But if you took away the bad food and the service of the actual First Choice holiday reps and air stewardesses it was a great holiday.

The Caribbean is a beautiful holiday destination and extremely good value for money for an all inclusive family holiday.

Our holiday in the Caribbean was fantastic – whether it was the beautiful Cuban beach that was a few steps from our hotel room or the amazing cocktails that were included in the all inclusive hotel price.

When you book an all inclusive holiday in the Caribbean it often comes with unlimited free water sports which we took full advantage of. We took to the pedalo at least twice a day and I often jumped in the water to enjoy the benefits of the beautiful beach.

When you do stay at an all inclusive Caribbean resort make sure you check that the food is up to scratch something that I check now so that I don’t have the same problem on a future holiday.

The Caribbean is a great place for you to just chill out and relax after a hard year at work (something that I know for sure that I need) and you can just enjoy your surroundings and re-charge your batteries.

These days though the Caribbean isn’t just associated with the rich and famous – others like you and me can now also afford it. I heard on the radio today that Virgin Holidays is offering all inclusive packages for a week for less than 700 pounds each which is a real bargain.

Imagine what you can get for your money – remember this is to fly from the UK so if you live closer such as the USA you will pay even less money for your dream holiday.
